Scenario map – Vienna

It’s been a little while since we talked about the Netherlands, but here we are with another scenario map for you! This week, we will present you the city of Vienna. Talking about it, we were inspired by the hills surrounding the foothills of Vienna and that’s what will be represented in The Guild 3.

From a historic point of view, Vienna goes way back, beginning when the Roman Empire created a military camp in the area covered by Vienna’s city centre. From that humble beginning, Vienna then grew from the Roman settlement to be an important trading site in the 11th century. Everything indicates the existence of a well-ordered settlement. And we kept that in the game :-). The scenario map of the city of Vienna is a crossroad of communication and trades. So much so that, in the 12th century, traders passing through Vienna had to offer their goods to the city. But it allowed Vienna to create a network of far-reaching trade relations and to become one of the most important cities in the Holy Roman Empire. The city’s expansion and development was also reflected by its increasing number of churches. You will be able to see this for yourself by looking at the pictures and when you get to play the game.

Besides the important trades in The Guild 3, Vienna has a big city center, an impressive market place, a harbor and a beautiful castle on a big hill! (Pictures above) The only city added to  this scenario map is the city of Presporok, today known as Bratislava, the Slovakia capital, with its own markets and harbor, not too far away from Vienna. We can’t wait to show it to you, soon 😉
